July & August Supper Club: Pahadi

We're welcoming the summer months with a new Supper Club theme for July and August at Mildreds Off The Books in Dalston, and Mildreds Camden. Introducing our Pahadi menu, a selection of authentic food from North India explored in a seven-course journey through street food, railway station snacks, flatbreads, curries and salads, inspired by the flavours of Bengal, Delhi, Utter Pradesh & Punjab.

On the menu:

black dahl dip with papad: creamy dhal made with black lentils, blended to a smooth aromatic dip. served with papad 

dahi balla, cherry tamarind chutney, pomegranate: a popular snack in delhi. lentil fritters topped with yogurt, finished with a drizzle of chutney and pomegranate seeds 

beetroot carrot chop, bottle gourd raita: also known as railway cutlet, these beetroot croquettes are commonly sold in train stations to be snacked on during your journey, served with a yogurt dip made with sauteed bottle gourd or calabash 

jackfruit bhuna, laccha pyaaz: chunks of young jackfruit cooked in rich spices until tender, served with fresh red onion salad 

aloo matar paratha: stuffed flatbreads filled with mildy spiced potato and pea, pan-finished with plant b+tter 

cardamom saffron almond kulfi with rose almond praline: rich semi-freddo ice cream served with crunchy caramelised almonds 

rose coconut paan cone: a traditional mouth freshener made from betal leaf filled with rose, sour cherry and coconut. designed to be chewed for a long period to aid digestion.
